• Language Courses (All Levels) General and intensive instruction for beginner to advanced learners; individual and group formats available.​

All Global Mandarin Academy courses: Basic to Advanced levels and topical content courses, run for 4 months, with 1 class per week. Designed for busy learners, each course blends language instruction with real-world themes, cultural context, and practical Mandarin use.

• Content Courses

   All courses are offered  in English or Mandarin. 

• Foundations of Academic and Professional Communication: This course develops foundational language skills in communication for academic and professional contexts. It is designed for learners who are building confidence in language and need structured support in everyday communication. The course emphasizes clarity, accuracy, and practical usage, preparing students for more advanced study in Strategic language.

• Writing, Language, and Critical Thinking: 

• This course develops advanced writing through cultural analysis, and structured argumentation. The course trains writing as a form of critical thinking, analysis, and professional communication, preparing students for academic, research, and global contexts.

• Cultural Thought & Media Analysis: Explore canonical texts and modern narratives, from Confucian classics to contemporary cinema. Ideal for those with academic or literary interests.

• Strategic Thought & Decision-Making: This course examines strategy as a mode of thinking and action through classical texts such as The Art of War and The Thirty-Six Stratagems, alongside modern case studies. Students learn to analyze complex situations, recognize patterns, and apply strategic frameworks to real-world contexts. As the culminating course, it integrates communication, writing, and cultural analysis into a unified approach to strategic thinking and decision-making.

Global Mandarin Academy – Chinese Proficiency Levels (ILR)

At  Global Mandarin Academy, we teach students how to use technology to learn Chinese more effectively, helping them reach proficiency in fewer hours.

Notes:

• Hours are cumulative and include reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice.

• Chinese (Mandarin) is considered a Category IV language for English speakers by the US Foreign Service Institute, so hours required are higher than for European languages.
